Lately I have felt compelled by the Holy Spirit to write. I’ve spent the last few hours putting together a list of daily commandments from the scriptures to give myself encouragement, inspiration, and wisdom.

Some of these are direct quotes from passages in the Bible and others are paraphrased or rewritten in a language that suits my style. I am going to tape this list to my closet door so that it will be easily referable and memorable.

Feel free to take from this list whatever you like. I strongly encourage you to make a list for yourself so that you may be reminded of all the wonderful aspirations God has for your life, on a daily basis. Enjoy!

Things to Do:

Remember the sacrifice that was made by Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for your sins.

Remember that it is only through Christ that you have eternal life.

Remember it is by grace that you have been saved, not by works; it is the gift of God.

Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Love your neighbor as yourself.

Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

Allow yourself to be completely filled with the Holy Spirit.

Pray without ceasing.

Edify the body of Christ.

Glorify God in your works daily.

Walk in love, light, wisdom, and unity so that you may glorify God.

Meet people “where they are” (spiritually, mentally, physically etc.) as Jesus did.

Bear the burdens of others, even those of whom you do not know.

Be content with what you have for you are continually blessed beyond what you deserve.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom.

Do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Put away wrath, bitterness, and all manner of evil speaking for it does not glorify God.

Do not conform to the things of this world. Rise above them to further the kingdom of God.

Take Christ as your example and follow in His footsteps.

Confess Christ freely before men so that Christ may confess you before the Father.

Let your light shine before men that they may see your works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Be holy in all manner of conversation.

Seek first the kingdom of God.

Hear God’s voice.

Be a servant.

Ask and you shall receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Deny yourself.

Take up your cross daily.

Keep His commandments.

Be reconciled to your brother for murder begins in the heart.

Rejoice and be exceedingly glad when you are persecuted, for great is your reward in heaven.

Do good to please God.

Forgive men their trespasses, so that your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Be constantly open to the will of Father.

Pray that His good and perfect will be done.

Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit.

Fear only the Lord your God who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Remember that His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Forgive your offenders just as the Father has forgiven you.

Have a faith that can remove mountains and cast them into the sea.

Be hospitable towards all. Invite in the poor, the maimed, the lame, and the blind.

Watch and pray so that you may not be led to temptation.

Make disciples of all nations. Baptize them and teach them to observe His commandments.

Receive God’s power.

Be born again in Christ Jesus.
